Official: Moscow to scale up BRICS coop to cut dependence on US
MOSCOW, May 17 (PRIME) -- Moscow plans to forge closer ties with its partners, including in the BRICS, to reduce dependence on the U.S. banking system and regulators, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters on Thursday.
“This exterritoriality (of the U.S. activities) has gradually started not just to prevent a normal course of economic cooperation in international trade but turned into a self-containing problem,” Ryabkov said.
“And we will intensify dialogue with the partners, including in the BRICS format to find an alternative to all this, on how to start to get rid of this.”
